Dean Boland - In My Corner (EP)
Dean Boland is the guitar player from Random Damage, which is a pretty good hard rock band. Dean Boland decided to put his own studio to good use and SteveConed (yes, it's a verb these days) his way to a solo EP. According to the bio, these songs were carefully chosen to showcase his writing and musical skills. According to the reviewer, they do the exact opposite.

The EP starts of with the title track, and I find out right away that lyrically this is not going to be epic. The tunes are OK, but there's so much missing in all of these tracks! The rest, is not much better actually. The EP discovers new lows on the final track "Only You". Dean, I really hope you got some ass because you wrote this for some chick, but why did you have to show it to the world man!?

All in all Dean Boland is a good guitar player, not so strong at writing songs. I do believe this is just his first effort, so maybe give it some time. Oh well, in the words of Les Claypool: "They can't all be Zingers".
