Reapers - World In Chains
Reapers have been around since 2002. According to their bio, they've been touring Europe for a while. After some shows were cancelled last year, they returned to Australia determined to make an album. A couple of months later I received it...here's the result.

The first couple of times World In Chains sounds like a pretty standard metal album, with standard riffs and drumming, but after a a listen or ten/fifteen, this albums gets on you! It's filled with changes in tempo and keeps you on your toes. The album starts out with 'Anywhere But Here' (I thought Australia wasn't half bad); listen to this and you will know what I mean! My favourite of the album: 'Fading Away' really takes you on a journey.

I really like this. Especially the guitarwork on this album is fantastic. The only thing that should have been better is the production. It's not produced the way the music deserves. Give this band a try and let's see what these gents have for us in the future (with better production).
