Hate - Morphosis
Receiving Hate’s new promo gives me another opportunity to spread some more propaganda about the mighty Polish death metal scene. Recorded in Hertz Studio (where almost every qualitative Polish metal band once recorded material) they now present us their sixth full-length record titled Morphosis.On Morphosis, Hate continues the red line that it followed through their previous record Anaclasis: A Haunting Gospel Of Malice & Hatred. All the songs can be heard apart from the others, but are at the same time part of a whole, an album with a great atmosphere. Hate is an absolutely killing machine, and with the addition of industrial samples they even get you in the mood to become a killer too.
It all begins with “Metamorphosis“, the 30 seconds introduction to “Thredony“. This song immediately grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let you escape during this satanic journey. The aforementioned industrial samples create a factory-like atmosphere in which Hate varies from ultra brutal death metal in practically every track, till tension building parts in which the guitar-play has a big role. Examples of that are the latest two songs of the album, namely “Omega“ and “Erased“. Beautifully built up but totally crushing in the end.
Then there are also a couple of parts in which the sound directs a bit to ‘blackened’ death metal. The song “Immum Coeli (Everlasting World)“ for instance, features these sharp and fast guitar riffs that make it tend to black metal. And then I haven’t even praised the excessive drumwork of Hexen, who blasts like his life depends on it - while also his cymbal work is great in e.g. Resurrection Machine.
All this comes with great artwork and will be released through French quality label Listenable Records. In my eyes an absolute pearl and as said, one of the main representative bands from the Polish death metal scene.
