Devoured Flesh Regurgitation - Bones, Flesh 'n Partysnacks
In 1999 Devoured Flesh Regurgitation started as a death metal band, but changed their style in goregrind and recorded this debut in 2006. Why did we receive it now? I haven’t got a clue, but lets take a look at this debut which also is their swansong.

Taking a look in the booklet we see that they made this record already with the idea that this was gonna be their last one. A swansong, which must of course be the most perfect product of these men’s career. Oh, wait, we’re talking about a goregrind release here, so we’ve got a nice crappy production of 26 songs in exactly 30 minutes. And what do we get to hear in these 30 minutes? Well, that isn’t really much of a surprise. The vocals have a heavy pitchshifter, best described by their band name. Wait, we’ve got some screams too! Instrumentally this record actually leans on many parts more to punk. There also is some polka once in a while and there are fewer blasting parts than an average goregrind release. Another thing in which they differ from most goregrind bands is that they barely make use of gory samples from movies and such, but overall this record isn’t really interesting.

The swansong of these Dutch guys, released on the Australian Grindhead Records by the way, of course doesn’t offer any surprises. That just doesn’t go together with goregrind, but what can be criticized is that I never had a “Fuck Yeah” or “Wow this is gruesome” feeling. The only real positive thing about this record is that I have an obscure release added to my CD collection.
