The Mojomatics - Don't Pretend That You Know Me
Surprised as I was to see that there were only two members in this band, even more surprised I was when I put it on. When you're Dutch (as I am) you know that there are two ways a twosome band can go. There is the absolutely awful and ridiculous shit like Twarres, and there's the absolute musical genius of Charlie Lownoise and Mental Theo. Oh well...I love memory lane...But we're drifting off here! Two guys on one disc, let's find out shall we?

The Mojomatics set the tone right away with 'Wait A While'. After hearing this song, you get a good idea of what's to come. Strangely enough (Again, two bandmembers) there is a pretty full sound troughout the album, and it does not, I say again, does NOT bore me at all! The style is very very sixties and the recording is well adapted to the genre! Without being crappy, as most bands alike have. This thing rocks all the way through and finds its highlight in the tenth song called 'Down My Spine'. If you listen carefully there's a little 'Painted Black' in there, and if you don't like The Rolling Stones thank you for reading so far, but please piss off!

As Dutch bands like The Madd already showed us, going back in time can work fantastic! The Mojomatics prove this point once again. And as said before (and as opposed to shitty bands like The White Stripes) I'm not really missing a bassplayer. So after this raving review, why is there only an 88 percentile? Check the playtime...We need more please!!

Appearantly this band is Italian, so is this the end of suckass-gayass-trying to be metal bands from Italy sending in their promos? Only time can tell...
