Pathology - Incisions Of Perverse Debauchery
Pathology from California are quite unknown to me, but was founded 2 years ago by David Astor, who was active in bands like Cattle Decapitation and The Locust. In September 2006, the band managed to release their first album on Amputated Vein Records. After their first album, they added vocalist Levi Fuselier and this explains to me why I thought that the vocals on the record I’m going to review were very much alike to Disgorge. Mister Fuselier uses his downtuned throat not only to wreck havoc in Pathology, but also in Disgorge. Anyways, both bands (Pathology and Disgorge) are from the south of California, so I suppose that is the reason. Their new album is called Incisions Of Perverse Debauchery.
Well, the record was nothing new to me, because I’ve heard this kind of album maybe a trillion other times. So much for originality… Which I do not mind by the way, because the music is top quality. The production is brutal and in harmony, which makes this album not too tedious to listen through. The only thing that’s wrong with this album is that every single track sounds the same and the same and the same. The same as maybe 30 other bands that I can give you a list of, but won’t because it’s a waste of time. People who are actually interested in this music will agree with me that originality isn’t the top factor for a good death metal album.
Well, all that remains is a little conclusion for you to actually decide to buy (or not to…) this new piece of death metal crap. I personally wouldn’t spend my damn hard earned money on this record, but it’s certainly effective music to scare off noisy housemates / parents / whatever. The production is well, the songs are definitely brutal, but nothing too much out of the ordinary.
