Midnite Club - Circus Of Life
Germany has always been a stronghold for brilliant melodic hardrock with exceptional bands like The Scorpions and Axel Rudi Pell. At least that’s what the biography of Midnite Club tells us. Midnite Club is a band from Germany and has just released their sophomore album called Circus Of Life. An album that is a great addition to the same genre that is mentioned above according tot the biography that is added with the promo album.

The album starts with a typical AOR intro in the first track called ‘Circus’. The influences of many melodic hardrock bands such as The Scorpions are clearly present within the music of Midnite Club. Add to this a great piece of 80’s rock and roll vibe and you’ll probably have an idea how Midnite Club sounds.

The main man behind Midnite Club is guitar player Steffen Seeger, who has written almost every track on this album together with vocalist Carsten Schulz, who you might know from Evidence One. Steffen Seeger, who was also a student of the guitar legend Joey Tafolla, also did the mastering and produced the entire album. Which is something that turned out pretty nice for Midnite Club because Steffen obviously gave every instrument a great crystal clear production. It’s almost needless to say that this improves the quality of the album.

Finally, the album is full of nice hooks and inspirational melody lines, add to this the roaring sounds of Carstens vocal chords and the great production and you’ll have a nice melodic hardrock album. The only problem with this album is that the music didn’t catch me once during the times I listened to it. It’s not a bad album, it just didn’t really affect me.
