Rose Hill Drive - Moon Is The New Earth
About two years ago I got pleasantly surprised by a trio called Rose Hill Drive, an up and coming bluesy rock band from Boulder, Colorado. Their self-titled debut album pleased me very well, and in the year after I also got the pleasure of seeing them perform at the Graspop festival. Now they unleash their second effort, entitled Moon Is The New Earth.

The bio accompanying the record writes that they have played with even more of the greats they themselves admired for years, last year even brought them an opening slot on The Who’s tour. And this time with this bluesrock hippie legends can definitely be heard on this new record. The songs are catchier and stick together even more, the production is even more refined (sounding raw and aged yet very in-your-face) and there’s somewhat of a hippie feel to it. All great improvements which make Moon Is The Earth a big step forward for Rose Hill Drive.

As I expected, this trio delivered the goods intact and in top shape for a second time. Any fan of blues-rock or any other related type of music should check this band out, right fucking now! I’ll say it again, I really wonder what will happen if this band gets a video out on TV and a song on the radio. Multi-platinum, here they come!
