Mourning Rise - 5 Ways To Illuminate Silence
This won’t be the longest review I’ve ever written, but when you’ll hear 5 Ways To Illuminate Silence from the German band Mourning Rise, you’ll understand why I don’t want to put too much effort in this review. At the end of the summer of 2006 the band was formed and I now wish I could turn back time. They’ve just released an album full of every possible genre you could think of and mixed it with idiocy and black “humor”.
Opener ‘Dead Notes’ starts for example with the sound of a windup music box followed by an acoustic part with wailing, spoken vocals. After this awful intro, the drums and synthesizer kick in to prepare the listener for a horrible radio play between the two vocalists. This track contains terribly bad grunting, cheapass synthesizer melodies and standard guitar riffs. The other four songs are equally terrible, but musically almost not comparable. They have tried to put so much different styles in their sound that it has become the ultimate mess.
People say that any publicity is good publicity and therefore I maybe shouldn’t have put this text online, but on the other hand: I’ve warned you guys!
