Gemini Five is a Swedish rock band, which is quite popular in Sweden. Their second album Black: Anthem even reached the 8^th spot in the Swedish sales chart. Quite an accomplishment, even in a more rock orientated country as Sweden!

 

They play rock with clear influences of various eighties glamrock bands. A style that various Swedish rockbands have adopted. Gemini Five doesn´t bring anything new to the table. Their variant is an up-tempo kind which is especially influenced by Mötley Crüe.

 

As said, Gemini Five will not win the originality award with this effort, but this is definitely not a bad album. I enjoyed the compositions and it especially is a cd I´ll put up frequently when I´m driving. The songs are simple, though effective and you´ll shout along very quickly. Something that´s essential with good rock music!

Besides the originality, I have one slight comment and that´s regarding the production. The bass tunes are too prominent placed in the mix. This overshadows the vocals a bit and that´s too bad.
