End Of Green - The Sick's Sense

Depressed subcore, End Of Green’s way to say they’re producing goth rock, just as tons of other German bands. These experienced rockers try to stand out by creating such terms, ‘cause they know it’s hard to survive in the goth rock scene. Up till now they’re succeeding in their scheme when looking at chart positions and airtime on national radio and television. But is this sixth album, The Sick’s Sense, really much better than the releases of random genre mates?

The short, but meaningful answer to that question is simply no. End Of Green isn’t even trying to be original for example. They’re just copying elements from bands like HIM, Paradise Lost and Type O Negative, which they put in a mixer just before recording a new album. The band probably thinks that the purpose justifies the means and it must be said, the music on The Sick’s Sense is entertaining, but it’s just way too cheap.

The Sick’s Sense contains enough mainstream material for even more radio and television airtime and also fans of bands like HIM and Lacrimas Profundere will enjoy the record. Personally I’m not convinced by their talent at all. Their bio states: “always remember: music that doesn’t touch you is a waste of time”. This sentence is 100 percent true in my particular case, so be warned and think before you act/listen.
