War Of Ages - Arise&Conquer
When I opened a package from Buzzin Hornet The Great, I saw he sent me the new War Of Ages record amongst others. When I saw this release my thoughts immediately went out to Terror, ‘cause Arise & Conquer’s artwork is comparable to the style Terror used on Always The Hard Way. After listening to this record for the first time I could immediately conclude that music-wise there weren’t any hinds to Terror at all though. This Christian hardcore band delivers no pure hardcore, but blends its sound with a lot of melodic guitar parts and clean vocals. Worrying? Not at all!

Because of the huge amount of melody in their sound they’ve created a heavy hardcore record that’s catchy as hell… uhm… heaven. Furthermore their lyrics are, just as the score I gave them, very positive and you can sing along with them after just a few spins. The energy that reaches you while listening to this disc is immense. While closing my eyes, I already see these guys standing on stage during the Persistence Tour, which starts in a few days, destroying the whole fucking venue! Non-Christians frequently express their aversion against gospel music, but if this would be the standard for gospel music I can’t imagine metalheads or hardcore kids complaining about it.

During the Persistence Tour they’ll play (as one of the) first (bands), so anybody who’s going: be early and try to catch War Of Ages’ set. I haven’t seen these guys live yet, but when their show is of the same quality as their record they alone are worth the price of the ticket. Also am I gonna try to find their previous releases, ‘cause, well, you’ll know why if you hear this album!
