Hailing from Switzerland, Weeping Birth is a one-man band formed by Vladimir Cochet. This guy runs several other solo projects as well as producing other bands. Anasognosic Industry Of The I is Weeping Birth’s second full length, which was recorded between 2001 and 2004 and it is now released through Conatus Records after some problems with labels and such.

 

Because Vladimir took so long to put it out, this record has reached the devastating length of almost eighty minutes of the most intense, technical and fastest black and death metal you have ever heard. As he is just by himself, he has programmed the drums at speeds not humanly possible. Combine this with brutal black and death metal riffs with some occasional grooves and you have yourself an over-the-top version of bands like Nile and Behemoth. If ultra fast stuff is your cup of tea, read no more and go check it out for this stuff is just too intense. For almost eighty minutes!

 

It definitely shows that Vladimir is a producer as well, for this record still feels quite natural. Even though it’s going at the speed of light. All the other instruments have a good sound and feel to it and his vocals are nothing to complain about either. It’s just that you have to ask yourself the question if you can listen to the most extreme and fastest black/death metal with just an occasional break to see the light of day for more than an hour. I know I’m working on it. And I’d like him to find some people that can actually pull this off and start playing live!
