Devillac - Three Hours To Coma
Devillac has been around since the year 2000 and have finally managed to produce a full length! After a couple of line-up changes, they finally got their sound right and brought us Three Hours To Coma. With not a whole lot of bio to annoy you, let's focus on the (damn good!!!) music they make.

Stoner rock is a segment of rock for the connaisseurs, who most of the time smoke a lot of weed (or hash in the case of this reviewer). Where a lot of bands are put under the umbrella of stoner, only a few really know what it's all about. Stoner rock gives you that feeling that you had when first smoking, or first hearing The Doors or Jimi Hendrix. It grabs you by the balls, in a gentle way and lets you be whoever the fuck you want.

But enough of this nonsense!! Devillac, the album opens with an instrumental song which lets you know right away, what you're dealing with here. After four minutes of instrumental music, they blow you away with the early timed highlight of the album 'Man Without A Spine'. After a couple of songs into the album, a line is easily drawn towards another legendary band we all know as Kyuss and especially to the album Blues For The Red Sun. This vibe continues through the entire album, without it being a ripoff at all!

Especially the vocals are very similar to other stoner bands. The drummer and bassplayer do what is expected of them and the guitars are great! The overall sound is good and dark and the guitar solos are as fuzzy as they should be! If it wasn't for two other bands in the same genre that kick ass (Mogul and Solenoid), this would be my favourite album in the latter of 2008. It is now still undecided, but nevertheless check this band out! If you like Kyuss, early QOTSA and early Soundgarden, this is right up your alley!!!
