Sarasin AD - Daggers, Lust And Disgust
Sarasin AD has been around for 24 years and has built up a steady fanbase across the globe. The vocalist Phil Naro has worked with several different artists such as Coney Hatch, Peter Criss, Lee Aaron, Kim Mitchell and Lou Gramm. In North America the band is known as Sarasin just so you know.
The classic US hardrock hasn’t been much different the last couple of years and in my opinion it's more alive in the underground scene. Of course every once in a while there’s a band that stands out between the other bands, but most of the time it's all the same and to be honest Sarasin AD isn’t an exception to this. Starting the album with ‘In America’ makes it exactly clear what I mean. The tradition hardrock of the first song, that reminds me a lot of AC/DC, is well played but lacks any sort of originality.
Which is also the greatest Achilles heel of the album. During the songs it’s pretty obvious that the musicians are masters of their instruments but that doesn’t automatically mean that all the songs are great. With most of the songs I really have some trouble keeping my attention at the album.
I guess the fans of Sarasin AD are very happy with the latest effort of there heroes. Sadly enough they didn’t convince me with their classic hardrock.
