In Aeternum - Curse of Devastation
The cover looks at me with its Pentagram and dead goat skull (that would be a badass bandname btw). Since I'm not the biggest black metal fan, In Aeternum's 'latest' EP ended up on the bottom of my to-do pile of CDs. Apparently, the band is still at work on a new full length album, so the fans will have to make do with this pretty nifty EP.Curse of Devestation is the first release the band has done on their new label, Pulverised Records. It contains 3 new tracks of In Aeternum's own kind of black metal, and a remake of 'Reaper in Black' from their `99 debut. The band hails from Sweden, and there is quite some 'Swedish Death Metal' present on this EP. In the vocal department we got a nice mix of screams, grunts and even some clean vocals as well. The tempo is pretty high overall, so you`ll be done after a good 14 minutes.
The record has been mastered by no one less than Dan Swanö, resulting in (for black metal) a good quality recording. This EP has definetely spiked my curiosity for their (still) coming full length!
