Lionheart - The Will To Survive
With the European release of The Will To Survive through I Scream Records, Lionheart is already celebrating its third release party of this record. Originally it was released in late 2007 by Sacremento’s West Coast Worldwide and a year later, after being added to the roster of Jamey Jasta’s Stillborn Records, the album was re-released in September 2008. To spice things up a bit, they put six bonus tracks on the current release though.
Although this is the third release of The Will to Survive, I wasn’t familiar with the record or the band up till now. The only time I came across the name Lionheart before was when they were added to the Hatewear European Tour 2009 with Sworn Enemy, Freya and CDC. My colleague Neurotic was very looking forward to see this band perform live and after listening to this disc I am too.
They’ve got the skills, they’ve got the necessary firepower, they’ve got they lyrics and they also have me added to their fan base. The only thing they do have, but wasn’t necessary, are the two “different” versions of ‘Calling You Out’ on this record. But hey, nobody is perfect. What definitely would be perfect: these guys on tour with Terror and Hatebreed. I’m already picturing the total fucking mayhem this tour would bring to the different venues. Until then: buy this record and prepare yourself.
