Hard Spirit from Spain has just released their latest effort called Walk The Wild. They started in 2002 and according to their MySpace they won seven contests in Spain, including a great show in the Bullring of Gijon. In 2006 all the songs were finally ready, and with Dani G they found a producer that fit the job.

 

According to their biography they are searching for the right combination between 80’s stadium rock and modern rock. So Hard Spirit should sound like a mixture of Bon Jovi and Nickelback. Well they do, and with this I mean they really do. During the first song I almost thought I was dealing with some old demo songs of Bon Jovi. This feeling showed up more than once when I listened to this album. Of course there’s nothing wrong with that, IF you really like the music of Bon Jovi.

 

Hard Spirit must have a golden future considering the fact that most Bon Jovi fans are probably in their late thirties and are probably not satisfied enough by their husbands nowadays. This means groupies in every major city where they are performing. Insane situations with overaged women that are crawling upon limousines that are transporting our heroes of Hard Spirit. Fans that are posting on every street corner around the hotel where Hard Spirit stays. Just to catch a glimpse of those wild rockers.

 

I guess the point is pretty obvious. If you like Bon Jovi you might give these guys a try. I guess I’ve just found the perfect gift for my big sisters birthday this year.
