Soulgate's Dawn - Messiah
Soulgate’s Dawn resides in Germany and have released three albums since their start in 2001. Ever since their first album Stardust the star of Soulgate’s Dawn is rising. They’re frequent visitors of the Rape Of Harmonies Studios (Maroon, Heaven Shall Burn) where they recorded all of their albums so far.

Like everybody knows, the market is overflooded with metalcore releases these days and every day there are even more bands that start to play the same musical style, just hoping to receive a piece of the pie. Hopefully Soulgate’s Dawn is another story. Since their beginning they’re playing typical German metalcore with brutal vocals, pushing riffs and crashing drums, which is exactly what you can expect on this album. From the opener ‘Illuminate’ to the last song ‘Conflict’ it’s pedal to the metal and crashing everything that comes in the way.

The only point with these kind of albums is that after five or six songs I get bored, because it all looks the same and I’ve heard it many times before. Unfortunately this also counts for Soulgate’s Dawn. Compared with other German metalcore bands like Heaven Shall Burn or Fall Of Serenity they don’t bring anything new to the table. This is also the major disadvantage of all those bands, they all look alike and play the same type of music. The diehard metalcore fan will be very pleased with this album, but as far as the average metalhead is concerned, this is just another redundant release.
