Minsk - With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone
U.S. postcore/doom outfit Minsk have returned with their third full length album, their second for Relapse Records. With just recently having completed a European tour which included a show at the prestigious Roadburn festival, With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone comes to keep their momentum going. Let’s see what these guys offer us.

With their previous record The Ritual Fires Of Abandonment I wasn’t as impressed as with some of the other bands in this genre. Yet when catching them live at Roadburn this year, I was convinced of the awesome capabilities of this band, they blew me off my feet! Unfortunately this new record still doesn’t manage to reach the same level of intensity they produce on stage, but it reaches that level just a bit more than before. Overall Minsk put together a dynamic record that features all the assets of the genre, varying from devastating doom riffs to psychedelic passages and dreamy soundscapes. It never gets boring or too repetitive.

Devastating at times, enchanting at others. Even though it is not highly original, the foursome still manages to surprise every once in a while. Definitely a worthy addition to the postcore/doom metal genre, With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone is a mandatory listen for fans of this style of music.
