Schizophrenia - Teach Me Love
At first glance the name Schizophrenia might make you suspect you’re dealing with a Sepultura influenced metal band. But when you look at the album title you know you couldn’t be further from the truth. Although their history reveals that they once were a thrash/death metal outfit, for some reason they changed to an industrial rock/metal band while keeping the same name and putting on make-up and crazy outfits. What happened?

I haven’t got the slightest clue, but this band started out in 2000, released some metal material in 2003, 2004 and 2006 and then in 2007 they played their last live shows as a metal band. After this they added the electronics to become a Marilyn Manson clone band. A first look at the band picture makes you want to smack them, especially the vocalist needs to be beaten back into reality. Yet it is not about the image (or is it….?), it’s about the music. And that is just a weak Marilyn Manson rip-off that doesn’t really do anything to me. The production is far from fine and the songs are far from interesting and original. This goes on for eleven songs which aggravate the hell out of me.

Sorry guys, nice try to get some fast cash by looking like a bunch of weirdos while copying the music of one of the biggest weirdos of ‘em all, but you’ve failed miserably. On the other hand, this does make me want to cut myself, just so I won’t have to listen to Teach Me Love (and what the fuck is that for gay a album title!?) any longer. Mission accomplished then? Hardly. Perhaps they should call the album Teach Me Music…

PS. For a good laugh, check out their metal-archives profile picture and then see what they look like nowadays!
