Darkest Insania - Do You Feel The Emptiness?
Darkest Insania hails from Italy. I have become quite negatively prejudiced about metal bands from this country, but I have also been proven wrong in that matter. This band has sent us their second demo entitled Do You Feel The Emptiness? Let’s see if I feel it.
Oh god, here we go again. Some fools that have mastered basic metal music skills found a way to record their material as crappy as possible and sent it over to annoy reviewers like me. But before I burn it into the ground completely, let me tell you about the music. Darkest Insania play melodic death metal with classical, black and goth influences. They mix brutal parts with a lot of melody, mostly done by the synth. Nothing new of course.
To be honest this thing is one of the biggest pieces of crap I’ve come across in a long time. The balance of the instruments in the songs is hard to find, which makes it a horror to listen to this demo. This is the main problem for me, because I just want to take this disc and throw it out the window when I play it. Furthermore I can’t really say that the songs are anywhere near outstanding, let alone remotely interesting or original. Or played tightly for that matter. And I’m not even going to start about the vocals.
Well the average age of this band is quite young, so I guess there is some hope for the future. For now, this disc is best of erased from musical history. Or you could use it to torture people in Guantanamo Bay like institutions.
