Construcdead - Endless Echo
The myspace page of Construcdead tells us they play a combination of death and thrash metal. Well just pour in a little bit of core and some Göthenburg influences and you’ll indeed have the sound of Construcdead. Indeed a recipe that we've seen before within bands like Soilwork and Darkane. Construcdead has just released their fifth full length album called Endless echo.
Like most of the bands within the genre, Construcdead doesn’t have an intro and just start with a brutal kick in the face. On Endless Echo this kick is called ‘Sedated Morning’ and ofcourse it doesn’t miss its purpose. With several great riffs they manage to make me smile and enjoy this first song, which is something that doesn’t happen during the rest of the album.
The major problem with this album is that it all sounds like it has been done over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good tunes on this album, but overall they’re not able to overshadow the rest of the bands within the same genre. Although I have to admit the bar is really high within this genre, it’s pretty hard to overcome a band like Soilwork. Still this album is one I should forget about pretty fast because in my opinion it’s a pretty redundant release.
You could check out there myspace to listen to ‘Mephisto’ and ‘My Haven’. If you like those songs you can buy this one blindly. If not just look out to the next one of these Swedish metalheads because maybe it’s better next time.
