New Blood - Paradise Disintegrates
New Blood is an Australian grindcore band that has just signed to Grindhead Records. They have released five demo records before coming to this EP entitled Paradise Disintegrates. Let’s see what these youngsters, who only formed in 2005, have in store for us grindheads.
This EP holds seven tracks that showcase some messy as fuck grindcore. Very noisy, not tight, unoriginal and poorly mixed grindcore. I know some of the bands on Grindhead Records can be of a pretty low quality, and unfortunately this one has to join that line. Although it is a nice attempt at some violent music, not once can I say I’m impressed by what I hear here. The only thing slightly pleasing is the voice of vocalist Craig Stemp, who produces some nice and nasty throat gurgling, but this too can use some improvement.
I will hold in mind that these guys are still fairly young and this is their first actual release after a number of demos, so I guess there is still room for improvement. The potential doesn’t smack you in the face immediately, but maybe in a couple of years they will be able to impress me. Hopefully they’ll have some better songs with a better production to offer in the near future. Cheers lads!
