Internal Suffering - Choronzonic Force Domination
If there’s one definition of ultimate freaked up death metal, it’s Internal Suffering. The music on their previous full length "Chaotic Matrix" resembles a lot with the technical work of Krisiun, except that this is even more freaked out. If I had an euro for every tempo change, break and fill they produced on that album, I would be a millionaire. Now, November 2004, I’ve received a promo disc of their new album "Choronzonic Force Domination" which is produced by Eric Rutan, who is active in Hate Eternal. The cover art was made by Toshihiro Egawa, who has also made covers for Mortician and Deeds Of Flesh.

The first song is also the title song of the album and the first thing I noticed was the absence of the total chaos in the song, it all sounded a bit stable, if that’s the right word for it. I can also say that I really enjoyed it a lot more, especially the last 30 seconds of the song. The second song “Summon The Gods Of Chaos” is a lot more like the Internal Suffering I knew, total chaos! This is to be read as ‘positive chaos’ because I really like the intense use of blasting, crushing and menacing riffs, followed short after each other. The good thing is that they’ve balanced these chaotic songs with steady, more powerful songs with long blasting riffs, which have the urge to stay in your head way too long! To state this I can recommend “Baphomet Invocation” The album’s length is quite short with 33 minutes, but I don’t mind it at all, because they’ve found a solution for that: It’s called the repeat button. I think that’s a strong attribute for this album, because the repeatability is quite high.
I can definitely say that this new album from Internal Suffering has proven its worth, as it’s really heard that they’ve become better as musicians. The recording is quite the same as with "Chaotic Matrix", as they’ve both come out on Displeased Records. If you are into fast uncompromised death metal, then this will suit you fine.
