Mephistopheles - Death Unveiled
Mephistopheles already exists 9 years, and in those 9 years they have progressed a lot. It all started without a drummer and live gigs were to be played with a computer. Death Unveiled is the fourth album of this German black/death metal band.
Let's continue with the songs. The album starts very powerful with the track By Fiery Death Devoured. Fast drums, screams and guitars to the top. Nice song, but where did I hear this before. The aspect of synthesizers is quite nice and fits well in the songs, thus creating a more original approach of the standard black/death metal. The line between Death and Black metal isn't that great and Mephistopheles have created a very good mix of both styles. In the song Cryosphere Trimension the drums and the synths are prominently hearable. Some remarkable songs on the album are Intoxicate The Sun because of the speed, From End To End because of the high headbang rate and Whispering Shadow because of the more technical rate.
The whole album sounds quite nice and Mephistopheles certainly have a good trump for their next tour. The material is not the most original I've heard but it isn't bad either. If you prefer bands like the old In Flames and Dark Tranquility, you certainly like Mephistopheles
