The sinister Female Trio started back in 1995 under the name LLOTH, with KINTHIA (vocals/guitars), NENESIS (guitars), TRISTESSA (bass and acoustic guitars) and PSYCHOSLAUGHTER from the Death/ Doom band Invocation as a session drummer. In May 1997 they recorded their first official demo entitled "Dancing In the Dark Lakes Of Evil".The music was a combination of sheer aggressive Black Metal with nostalgic melodic parts. Right after the band make a pact with the Greek Label BLACK LOTUS. Meanwhile the band changes its band name from LLOTH to ASTARTE that was far more representative and compatible with their music. Later in 1997 they enter in the studio 5 to record their first full-length album entitled " Doomed Dark Years". The music remains fast and aggressive but now it's more mature and tight producing a nightmarish atmosphere with a powerful and mystical sound with the always-chaotic KINTHIA's vocals. After two years of extensive work through underground networks, the band gained recognition and respect of the fans in major European countries. They proved that women can play Black Metal equally Powerful as Men. It was time to record their second opus entitled "Rise From Within". Their music became more complex and atmospheric but in the same time aggressive and violent! " Rise From Within" is a piece of work dedicated to the esoteric doctrine full of Black Metal rage and Hatred. The new ban's step is coming soon, where in the coming months of the new year 2002 the new album will be out under the title "Quod Superius Sicut Inferius". It is just...I've only heard women singing in black metal...not doing everything themselves. Hope this is good... Starts good! Inflamed Paradox is the first track and is really cool and alternated. If the rest of the cd is going to be like this they're sure of a pleasant future. This songs lasts for 7.24 minutes, and doesn't bore you at all! Good work. All the songs last pretty long, doesn't matter as long as it's good. I never thought these girls could scream like this...damn.
