Corrosif - Join Us
Sometimes you receive a CD that sounds like the older metal legends. But besides that they use the newer techniques and ideas to create a new sound they put on an album. The band Corrosif from Switserland is one of those bands and when I received their CD 'Join Us', I was surprised by the result.
The first band to start with is the sound of Sepultura, the first songs of this album really give me the feeling that I am listening to an old Sepultura album. Even the vocals are just like Max Cavalera.
Luckily for the band (and their mark) they are actually using new elements in the songs that follow. I can hear some Korn in the songs and some little things remind me of Rammstein and even some vocals used in Agresión. So there you have it.
So this means it is actually possible to use other styles and mix them together and get a great result. Besides that they really impressed me with their cover and that is the main reason why I am reviewing this album. The black cover with the computer modelled face is just amazing. I just wanted to know what kind of music this band had on their album. And it sure isn’t bad.
Too bad they are using more original elements at the end of their album. I like it when I hear new elements in other music and now I had to wait for this. Overall an attractive album with good music. But it needs a little bit more originality to convince me.
