Horrified. A well known band in the Greece metalscene. They've been around for 13 years now, released 4 albums in total ('Eternal God' in 1990, 'The Ancient Whisper Of Wisdomin' 1992, 'In The Garden Of The Unearthly Delights' in 1993 and 'Animal' in 1998) and in 2002 they released 'Deus Diabolus Inversus'. I just got a hold of it a month ago, so that's why it's kinda late. The album 'Deus Diabolus Inversus' starts off with a very cool song, with the same title as the CD itself. In the beginning you hear a horn blowing, to welcome you to the world of Horrified. Then the guitars jump in, and the song really starts. It's a good song, I like the voice of Gore. He grunts, screams and snorts (made me think of a sampled pig). The second song is nothing special, though the riff in the third song, ' Requiem For A Caged Lust' is really cool. 'Selenes And Endymions Son' starts with a hymn, which continues for a long time. Gore starts screaming through this, and then you hear a women talking. I found out this is 'Dr. Petra Ariadne Westerkamp (Lyrical scene of Berlin)'. Damn. You can really notice that she's German, cause her accent makes me wanna puke. Okay, the guitar is awesome, like in every song on this album ,really melodic. The others songs are great as well ,especially 'Avatar Of The Age Of Horus' where Mickael Ackerfeld (Opeth) does a guest appearance. Then there is the song 'Once Upon A Time'. It fucks up the entire album, I skip it everytime when I listen this CD. You hear some flutes, an acoustic guitar (which is nice) and Gore starts this melodic talking thing. He probably didn't notice he sounds like a man who's balls are being twisted 540 degrees. In another song I noticed a women's voice and Gore's crunching and stuff. I didn't make me happy either, but well the rest of the CD is okay. The final track makes everything complete, a atmospheric acoustic song, which is really beautiful. Tracklisting: 1.
