Danforth - Opusone
Aah, the sweet aggressive sound of hardcore. How I’ve come to more and more respect and like this not too complex genre. Since it’s being hyped like hell lately, a lot of new bands are emerging like grass from the ground. Danforth has just released their first demo, lets see if it sounds promising.
Well it all sounds like your basic hardcore band, with some impressing and convincing vocals. Some fast circle pit parts, some breakdowns and some build-ups about sums up this three track demo. The vocals lift this band a bit higher than most bands in the genre, which is a very good thing to have. The tracks have a distinct sound that remind me of a bigger hardcore act, but the name fails to pop into my mind.
The recording quality is, like with most underground hardcore, not great, but the riffs are very clear so it’s not that big a problem. The tracks are not recorded completely tight, but I can forgive them for that, considering that it’s still a demo. Underground moshing!
Well these three tracks are an interesting sample of what is yet to come (I hope). And even though they sent me a bio completely in French, and the songs last little over seven minutes in total I’m quite curious about what this band will offer us in the future. Support violent dancing!
