Insidious Decrepancy - The Inerrancy of Profanation
One ugly dude (Shawn Whitaker) with an ugly guitar, ugly voice and ugly drummachine: Insidious Decrepancy. It’s brutal and I like it!!

US Death Metal like Deeds of Flesh, Severed Saviour, Disgorge, Lividity and so on... It’s on Unmatched Brutality, what else did you expect? Emocore? Fuck that! This is some brutal, fast musick which pounds the last bit of sense right out of my brain!

The drum machine produces some really over the top blasting mayhem and gives the music a bit of a Grind feel. Most guitar riffs are pretty fast, but there are a lot of mid-tempo neck breaking mosh riffs too. The fact that it’s actually quite melodic at times makes this album more diverse. The vocals are guttural grunts and scorching screams, as one would expect from this kind of sonic terror.

The Inerrancy of Profanation is a very clean sounding album. I like this, because you can hear every instrument and it sounds as tight as Bruce Dickinson’s old latex trousers. On the other hand: a bit less clean would have been nice, since it al sounds a bit less brutal than, for instance, Liturgy or Disgorge.

Of course the lyrics are really fucking sick. Killing people (especially women and priests) and all kinds of gory fun: …intestines, prepared with a touch of garlic & oregano... A lot of blasphemy and negative thoughts on life in general, you know the drill…

Christ is on the album cover! Only this time the cross is inverted and shoved right up his arse! He looks even more messed up than he did in Mel Gibson’s comedy The passion of the Christ!

Not the most original Death Metal release lately (I’m getting a bit bored saying that all the time, but there are so goddamn many releases!) But it’s a good one.
I’m looking forward to seeing Shawn perform on the Obscene Extreme fest in the Czech Republic (13/14/15 June 2006.)
