Lye By Mistake - Arrangements For Fulminating Vective
Anyone ever remember calling a band genre defying? Well, here's the new norm. Lye By Mistake's debut 'Arrange For Fulminating Vective' (what's in a name) is the first release on the freshly formed Lambgoat (from the e-zine) label, and boy is it ever a good start. Music for the forward thinking extremists among us who like their tech-core varied with a capital V.

Imagine Dillinger Escape Plan re-recording Calculating Infinity, adding some clean vocals here and there and in corporating elements like fusion, salsa, prog and (for fuck's sake) country. That would paint a pretty good picture of the result.

Lye By Mistake's extreme blend of technical proficiency, mastery of different styles and chaotic but in a way catchy songwriting, make up for a ehm.. varied record. Somehow it makes sense how at one moment a jagged math part transforms in a fusion solo, while seconds later a latin groove picks up. While at times sounding forced the whole experience comes across as one combined WTF moment, which at first makes you laugh.

Minutes later you can't help but admire these guys. They probably won't get famous and rich with this, but at least their goal of mastering everything in their record collection is reached...
