A couple of weeks ago Roadrunner Records called me if I was interested in a interview with the Dirty Americans. you can read the result here. But offcourse I was also at their show in the Effenaar, Eindhoven. After eating at TheWizz his home we went towards the Effenaar.
TheWizz wanted to make this review but because he was so pissed, I am the lucky one!
The support act was a dutch Rock'n'Roll band called Lupu Negru. The sound that these guts produced was kick ass rock'n'roll. The show they played was pretty damn good for a dutch band. The thing that disapointed me were the vocals. These were not clear and pure. If this band want to get bigger they need to get an other vocalist in stead of the bassist/guitar player that handels the vocals now.
After changing the backline and soundchecking the equipment it was time for the Dirty Americans to enter the stage. With a venue that was only filled half they entered the stage full of confidence.
The power they gave the audience was extreme and you can see that the audience was enjoying the show as much as the band. My own opinion is that this band consists out of a bunch of crazy idiots that creates pure dirty Rock'n'Roll. They almost played every song of the new album Strange Generation.
After playing for more than an hour the band finished up their set and the audience reacted with loud noise. Directly after the show the band joined the crowd and had a beer and a chat with the people that wanted to.
The Rock'n'Roll fever sure got me. This band rocks and I've made a promise to the members of the band. The next time they play in the Netherlands, I will get everybody to see them and give these guys what they deserve. A loaded venue and a great atmosphere!
If you can get the chance to see this Detroit Rock'n'Roll band live, use that chance to have an awesome night with great music.
