Face Tomorrow - Great band, great music, great evening!
After hearing their new album for a couple of times, I decided it was time to see Face Tomorrow once again! The last time I saw them was a couple of years ago at the Lowlands festival, and I remember being blown away at the time! Let's see if they've grown.Well, not surprisingly, they have. A lot! These guys are great musicians and have it in them to play bigger venues than they are currently playing. The pre-show was a Belgian band called Zoon, which was a bit too Coldplay for me, but it was doable. However, since Coldplay sucks ass, a lot of ass actually, I was bored by this band pretty fast, and I wasn't the only one. The thing the band lacked was, what I like to call, a musical orgasm. They buid up, and build up and build up and then the song is finished. It's basically fucking without cummin'.
Then it was time for the main act of the evening, Face Tomorrow. The venue was filled out and they hit it off right away. The main power of this band is that they combine sensitive and nice build-ups with explosions and fire! They're fucking and cummin' too, I can tell ya! The guitars and bass are well-balanced, and drummer Sjoerd is one of an exceptional quality, even though he did mess up a couple of times. The thing that really makes this band stand out is frontman Jelle. He has a vocal range that is amazing, think Chris Cornell and maybe even Maynard James Keenan. Besides beautiful lines, his screams can stir up crowds too!
All in all a great evening where old stuff and new stuff was played, with only one moment of feedback buzz through the venue. Which is exceptional for this venue, trust me! Go check 'em out!
