Anathema - A natural Disaster
A natural disaster; anathema’s seventh full length studio album is released on 20th October. Anathema is visibly progressing with each new album, exploring new techniques and influences. Anathema guitarist Daniel "Danny" Cavanagh had previously stated this about the musical direction of the new album: "The [new] songs lend themselves to [a] simplified approach, being uncomplicated songs that get to the heart of the matter without having to go round the block to get there, if you see what I mean" To be honest I’ve never listen to anathema before. So it’s quite difficult to review their new cd. But let’s give it a try. Normally I listen to much harder stuff than this kind of music. The opening starts with the song ‘Harmonium’. It’s really easy listing music. And so is the most of the cd. But it isn’t bad. When you listen to the cd for the second time it’s starting to get better. I enjoyed the record after listen it a couple times. The first three songs are experimental. The upcoming songs „Are You There”, „Flying” and „Electricity” will give you goose bumps. The only harder song on this album is song „Pulled Under At 2000 Metres A Second”. In mine opinion it could be a little bit harder. Seen the fact it’s not a hard album it’s definitely a very good album. It’s nice and contains technical parts in the whole album. So when you listen to it more than one time it’s a great album. Even if you, just like me, like much harder music. Tracklisting 1. Harmonium 2. Balance 3. Closer 4. Are You There? 5. Childhood Dream 6. Pulled Under at 2000 Metres a Second 7. A Natural Disaster 8.
