These two guys space out your mind with the use of electronics, violins and drums, the latter being a real trademark of this band. The almost hypnotizing beats make sure there is some form of repetitiveness, while the rest of the instruments space of in all directions. The atmosphere created by this is kind of threatening, but also very relaxing, like ambient should be.

 

The albums contains the two tracks �Psychoide� and �Participation Mystic�. Both these tracks are remixed as well by respectively Robin Rimbaud from Scanner and Justin Broadrick from Jesu. Personally I don�t really think the  �Psychoide� remix by Robin Rimbaud really adds anything to the whole disc, it sort of turns to threatening ambiance into music that would suit a action/thriller movie, not really what I�m looking for. The remix of �Participation Music� by Justin Broadrick on the other hand very much pleases me. I�m a big fan of Jesu anyways, and the beat he�s thrown in here is absolutely awesome. Add the immense space atmosphere layered on this beat and you�ve got yourself some great ambient/industrial space music.

 

Maninkari sounds very promising if you ask me. I hope to hear more from them in the future soon, if I�m correct the next release is set for November. Any fan of drone/ambient/space music is well advised to check this out.
