Darkthrone - New Wave Of Black Heavy Metal
Darkthrone, I guess everyone has heard of them, whether you are into black metal or not. A band that released 12 albums with some major classics like Under A Funeral Moon and Transylvanian Hunger. I guess this band needs no further introduction.
Darkthrone released this EP so the fans already could taste something of their latest album F.O.A.D. New Wave Of Black Heavy Metal contains 4 songs, 2 songs which can be found on F.O.A.D. ('Wisdom of the Dead' and 'Canadian Metal'), a complete new song ('Hedningar Fra Helvete') and a cover of Testors' 'Bad Attitude'.
You've got to love this, otherwise you'll hate it. Some people think this kind of metal was made in the 80's and should not be written again in this century. Others want more and more.
So what do I think about N.W.O.B.H.M.? Well, simple riffs, simple drumming, a sober production� but al packed in some nice songs. And the lyrics fit the music just perfectly: "Sex with Satan the loudest song sounds like a hammer from hell". Yup, I like this one.
