The Burning - Storm The Walls
I have waited quite a while before I could write this review but most of the time I was in hospitals and stuff like that. But finally I managed to grab some time to write this review. The Burning from Denmark are eager to Storm The Walls of the thrash bastion with this debut album that was produced by Jacob Hansen. Who you might remember from Heaven Shall Burn, Mercenary, Volbeat or Hatesphere.

Starting with a drum solo that screams ‘bring it on, bitch!’ immediately sets the tone for the album. Furious thrash metal that reminds me a bit of Pantera in their Cowboys From Hell days. It has been a while since I heard so much power, brutality and anger in one album. Considering the fact that this all comes from one guitar and one bass it predicts a lot for this album and the future.

During the album I have the feeling I want to join these guys onstage. Which is probably because of the great production of Jacob Hansen. That is also something you might expect from a man that has worked with the names that are mentioned above. On the other hand there are enough great producers that work with well-known bands that finally deliver an album that you wouldn’t give away to your mother in law, or maybe you just want to do that. Well that’s another story.

This debut album of The Burning will certainly kick some people awake and start working very hard if they want to keep up with these guys. A great band for the thrash world to pay attention to. Brutal riffs, tight drumming and aggressive vocals or like they say it; No Swedish twin guitar, no clean sung choruses, no trendy haircuts… All fire!!!
