Pest - Rest in Morbid Darkness
Sweden’s raw black metal duo Pest have been releasing their anti-Christian attack since 1997 already, and this year sees the release of their latest full length entitled Rest In Morbid Darkness. Let’s see what they have to offer.
As mentioned above, Pest play raw black metal, and by raw I mean like demo-tape quality songs, honouring the words “true” and “necro” with this outing. Everything about this band is done in the traditional way, the recording, the song structures, even the song titles give this feeling. A bit cheesy though, how many black metal songs do you think are named ‘Possessed By The Beast’ or Blessed By Hellfire’ anyway?
Fans of the traditional old school black metal will definitely be pleased with this. Raw, unpolished Satanism is what Rest In Morbid Darkness has to offer, so if you feel like vomiting up the blood of Satan, be sure to pick this one up.
