Sikh - One More Piece
Since I saw the French (nu-)metal band Sikh live as support of (hed) P.E. in 2006 I didn’t hear a thing from them anymore. This was not my own fault though. After that tour through Europe they started writing and recording a new album and that was just released a couple of days back. With One More Piece they now finally present us their second full-length, so let’s find out if this was worth the wait, shall we?

One More Piece turned out to be an energetic, fresh and heavy album. Nu-metal is considered to be dead, but Sikh definitely tries to revive the genre with this release. There are a lot of different influences audible on One More Piece, but the whole never sounds chaotic at all. The ballad ‘Ballad Of The Harmless’ maybe is a little bit misplaced, but on the other hand it makes the impact of its successor ‘Psychotro’ even bigger.

This four-piece is definitely influenced by for example (hed) P.E., but they do hold their own sound. Furthermore the catchy melodies aren’t special or anything, but they just get stuck in your head very easily. When you’re still listening to nu-metal bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn and Deftones you should get yourself a copy of One More Piece immediately. Start living in the present and be prepared for a very nice final product that definitely has the power to blow you away!
