Diablo Swing Orchestra - Sing-Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious
Hailing from Sweden is one of the most weird of all metal related acts; Diablo Swing Orchestra. Their first full length The Butcher’s Ballroom already kicked up dust, displaying some interesting avant-garde metal that the band itself calls riot-opera. Now they return to shock the world with Sing-Along Songs For The Damned And Delirious. Are you ready for this rock-opera?!

Well where to begin describing this band. DSO takes the listener to places in metal you never thought imaginable, yet they do it with the such comfort and ease it all sounds natural and logical. You’re being taken from a medieval opera to a big band concert and right back into some heavy rock/metal. The range of non-rock or metal styles incorporated by this band is beyond limits, really fucking astonishing I can tell you. Especially the use of trumpets and such triggers my interest a lot. Or what to think of the guitar sound they use at the end of the last song, it reminds me so much of Dr. Dre’s 2001 record, it's retarded. Ah fuck I can name so many examples of eyebrow-raising moments on this disc, I’m not even gonna try to continue. Just listen to Sing-Along Songs For The Damned And Delirious and you’ll feel the same.

Compared to their previous record the band has made a big leap forward, writing even more creative songs and, most importantly, recording it in a better quality than before. The Butcher’s Ballroom had a bit of a shitty guitar sound in my opinion, which has improved a lot on this new record. And also my compliments to the artwork, which is simply brilliant, especially compared to their previous cover.

Personally I haven’t had the honour of seeing this band playing live, yet I can only imagine how insane it must be to see this happen right in front of you. I would like to recommend this band to any fan of weird and crazy (rock/metal) music, because this will surely make your jaw drop to the floor time after time. Sing-Along Songs For The Damned And Delirious is right up there, check it out and be convinced!
