Cliteater - Eat Clit Or Die
Cliteater is a band that is quite well known to me, because I saw them perform live for a dozen times I guess and we performed a show with them in Venray. I bought their latest effort called Eat Clit Or Die once, but I lost the album on Fuck The Commerce. Ivan spoke to me after our show and asked if I wanted to do a review for Eat Clit Or Die and here it is!

Brutally starting out with a lot of screams and pitched growls, CT Eunuch is an unpolished Cliteater track with fast mincing parts separated by mid-tempo ‘poeka’ like tempos. Their debut album Clit’Em All was not something completely new in the grind world, but it listened away quite easy and did not bore me after 3 or 4 times. Eat Clit Or Die has that same thing, the music did not really change that much. The vocals done by Joost are characteristic and are in the same style as with Inhume. They now use far more pitch than before, which I definitely like about this album. The album title Eat Clit Or Die is obviously taken from S.O.D.’s Speak English Or Die, but I guess most of you knew that. The album now arrives at track 5, called Crash Test Fetus, which is a quite imposing track that I really like, just like A Fridge Too Full. The sound of the music is quite genuine, but I thought I heard a trigger on the bass drum. This does sound nice, but I’m not a big fan of triggered drums. I’m more impressed if someone without triggers produces a formidable sound. In my opinion, the bass sound doesn’t reach its full potential and could have been recorded somewhat harder. For instance, in the song Eat Clit Or Die there is a prominent bass solo, but it just doesn’t reach me. I really do like that track though. The pitchshifter has been used, as I said earlier, but still I think they could use it some more, but it is good as it is.

I guess I can fill up 2 pages if I’m going to explain every song on this album, so I’ll stay with this. Cliteater have done a good job and made another album that won’t bore me for awhile. I am still listening to it since I originally bought it in May, which might say something about the credibility of this album. Conclusion: This is a very nice album with diversity in vocal style, powerful grind banging riffs and start eatin’ those pussies!
