Tomorrow's Eve - Mirror Of Creation
Tomorrows Eve from Germany was founded in Germany in 1998. In 2000 they brought out their debut album The Unexpected World through B-Side records. In 2001 they began writing for an concept album, and that album was released in 2003, and which is the album that we are going to review now. Mirror Of Creation is a concept album. If you want to know exactly about what it is, you should read the interview with Tomorrows Eve in the Interview section. Ill be brief. Its about the control of human genes, and thus making a perfect human. Now there is a boy that has been optimized and that boy looks into the Mirror of Creation. In 13 songs youll follow the path of the boy and what he sees. The first song is an intro song, which is followed powerful by Optimization. The song is powerful by its pounding bass and the nice difficult keyboard riffs, perfectly brought into balance by the guitars. The music is a mixture between Progressive and Power Metal, and a very good mix indeed. The lyrics are intelligent and nice to follow. The mixture of these 2 styles is done frequently, but Tomorrows Eve isnt just a clone from another band. Thats another point, the originality. Its been a quite long time ago I got an album that was original and with Mirror Of Creation I think Tomorrows Eve have found an own sound and thats very important for a Progressive Power band. As the story continues the music influences the atmosphere of the environment, a very tricky part but performed well. Songs like Live Your Dream, Crazed Gunman and the title track Mirror Of Creation are very neat and easy listenable. That makes the album not just an underground album that reaches only the pure fans, its also a little bit orientated for the mass. Well, it was quite hard to make a judgement, should this record be a straight 100 out of 100 or not. It would be if for the vocals. Sometimes the vocals arent just up to 100 % and irritate a little bit. But that would just be me. I really enjoyed listening to this album and that makes this album its mark completely worth. Dont understand me wrong about the vocals, just check it out for yourself and make sure you at least find one song or just buy the friggin album!
