Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - Before The Bleeding Sun
Alright, this band is fairly unknown to me and is called Eternal Tears Of Sorrow. I’m about to review their latest recording “Before The Bleeding Sun” and I read something about this band combining doom and death metal with each other. Well, I had to listen to it of course and was just hoping not to get some gay ass shit. The first time I heard the album in a jiffy, and immediately thought: Gay shit…. Of course it isn’t objective to listen to an album just once, so I listened to it some more, this time with a big joint and began to like the album somewhat better!
The album starts out with ‘Sweet Lillith Of My Dreams’ and sounds very technical and there are keyboards in them. I had a little opinion about keyboards in metal music, which was gay! GAY! But when I heard Vesania for the first time, the keys did quite appeal to me and sounded very nice actually! The keyboards used with Eternal Tears… also sounded very nice and made the music sounding quite groomy.
The only problem is the season, because I think this record would appeal to me more in the late autumn, begin winter. The music is just perfect for those long dark nights, smoking some quality weed. The drumming isn’t that very special, and many heavy metal and power metal bands do the same. The guitar sound is a little bit sweet, and could have been somewhat more heavier. This is heard on the second track called ‘Another Me’ I just love the part when the drums and vocals erupt in a very up-building way. The third track ‘Red Dawn Rising’ is somewhat too easy sounding for me, and could be perfect when you try to sleep. The vocals are nice though, because of the clean parts. Another very interesting track is called ‘Sakura No Rei’ which sounded quite progressive to me. Yes, I’m actually beginning to like this album!
