Insane - Rocking the famous Hendrik-Ido Ambacht
As you might remember, I had the opportunity to review the new album from Hungarian metallers Insane about a year ago. I was surprised in a very positive way and ever since then, I had quite good contact with the band. Not so weird that they invited me over to Hendrik-Ido Ambacht to come and see them play live on one of their Dutch tourdates. Since it was quite some time ago I went to a concert I was excited to see some live action again. Well, it turned out to be a nice evening with some good metal.

First of all, Hendrik-Ido Ambacht…of all places!! Somewhere in the neighbourhood of Rotterdam, Buzzin Hornet and I found this small place and surprisingly they had quite a nice and cosy venue. Too bad that it wasn’t too crowded and considering the fact that only 120 people could fit in there…you can imagine it wasn’t that busy in the venue.

Anyway…we came here for Insane. Also on the bill was Arsebreed but we’ve never seen anything of this band because we had to leave a bit early.

As soon as Insane started their set, I was nodding my head to the music. As I was listening to the set with my earplugs in, I was a bit disappointed in the vocals. Sometimes I couldn’t even hear them. But then I tried to listen without my earplugs and I was stunned about the great sound. Suddenly the vocals sounded awesome! They started with their great song ‘Set it off’ right away and throughout their set more and more people started to move to the music. Songs like ‘Scare the Crows’, ‘The End of the End’, ‘Gods chair’ and ‘Army of Cheaters’ were all played very well and considering the fact that the band played another show that day, they did quite a good job this night. It’s a shame that the crowd wasn’t responding that well though…which made the show look a bit lame. Well, as an Insane fan, I can assure you the show wasn’t lame, the sound was pretty damn good and Insane just rocks. If you’re into nu-metalcore (maybe that’s not the correct description but I just can’t think of another term) or you just like other Hungarian bands like Subscribe than I suggest you to check out Insane soon. You’ll like it! (Expect an interview with the band online soon!)
