Danko Jones, Triggerfinger - That mouth does get louder!
As a native from the beautiful city of Rotterdam, I am pleased to see there are more and more good rock bands coming over to my city! Concerthall WATT/Waterfront is doing some good over here and brought us an evening of rock 'n' roll with Triggerfinger and the always energetic Danko Jones. The house wasn't as packed as it should be, but there was a good atmosphere in the end!

The evening started out with belgian rockers Triggerfinger. This is one hell of a band, but not one to warm up a crowd for the more alive Danko Jones. The music was really good, if not great, but when they really started getting into it, they slowed down again. Beacause of this the crowd couldn't get warmed up enough. However, they did get the majority of the crowd to sing and clap along. Good musicians, and they look rock 'n' roll as well! All in all a great band I would really like to see again sometime soon!

After a short break it was up to Danko and his two friends to fire it up, and they did! At first the crowd didn't get much into it (maybe some of the smoke from the reggaeparty downstairs numbed us all a bit?), but as the concert continued Danko Jones got the crowd rocking! They played new stuff, old stuff and everything in between! The new album, Never Too Loud, is pretty good, but at a live show it's the older songs that stick out most! The reactions from the crowd were best and heaviest, to songs like 'White Cadillac', 'Play The Blues' and 'Lovercall'. In between songs, Danko Jones proved to be a master at playing with his crowd! Their shows are almost always good, because these guys were born to rock a stage and in time the Danko Jones catalogue contains a lot (I repeat: A LOT) of great rock songs to get ya going!!!

In the end the crowd was left pleased. They played for almost two hours and the sound was really good. Hopefully we'll see both bands again, very soon!
