Former Death Angel drummer joins The NervFormer Death Angel drummer Andy Galeon has joined the San Francisco Bay Area punk/hardcore outfit The Nerv.
Galeon is well-known as the original founding drummer of the groundbreaking Bay Area thrashers Death Angel, as well as The Organization, and several other projects. Most recently, Andy has been involved with End The Suffering, a metal/thrash/punk outfit, and Fos Rock, a "multi-sonic" blend of hip-hop, funk and metal.
The Nerv has fast been rising in the ranks of Bay Area punk/hardcore circles, including recent high-profile shows with The Tubes, Agent Orange, Doa, Haunted By Heroes, and D.R.I. The band is currently in the studio recording new material for an upcoming Cd. Galeon’s drumming will be heard on these new tracks.
Says The Nerv bassist Ian Larkin: "[Andy is] a great fit. He brings the proper dynamic to the pulse of our sound, and the right attitude!"
Adds Galeon: "I want to fit my aggressive playing style into [The Nerv's] already powerful groove — and propel it forward into the future."
He continues: "I think it's a really good fit! They are a tight unit, and I identify with that. I also identify with their attitude!"
