Pitch Blond - Demo
I have already written two live views in which I express how amazed I am by this band. I was present at their cd-presentation and of course a review of their demo follows that. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Pitch Blond’s first recording!!!

If you haven’t already read my previous articles about them, I will quickly introduce them for you. Pitch Blond is a rock-trio fronted by a woman on vocals and guitar. The first impression they gave me was that we’re dealing with a noise-rock band here, but the gentile side of these three seems to be pushing through recently and I find it hard to still apply the term ‘noise’ on them.

They deliver us five tracks, which can be gentile and calm in one song, while exploding in heavy rock in another. The main difference I discovered between what I saw live and what I hear on this disc is a more dimensional use of vocals, especially with Suzanne. There are also the backing vocals of bassist Vincent which are quite apparent in the tracks, but guitarist Suzanne really shows what she can do with her voice. I was explained by Vincent that in a live situation it of course is different using all your capabilities, but I certainly hear a lot of vocal-sounds that I never heard from her before. Definitely a plus. And then of course I think she kicks Anouk, Skin and Alanis Morissette’s ass severely, but I guess that’s just my opinion.

Pitch Blond have already amazed me by showing me that they can both rock and relax, and this demo is the perfect example of that. It has a good sound for a demo, way better than average, and it shows what these guys and girl are all about. I cannot wait to see what the future will bring for them, and more importantly, what they will bring to us, because I think this band still needs to grow to its full potential. Good luck guys!
