Revolting Cocks - Cocktail Mixxx
Personally I just know Revolting Cocks because Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen is a part of it. That, and you only have to hear that name once to never forget it, if you have such a twisted mind like me. Now if I’m correct we’re dealing with an album filled with mixes of older tracks, tracks I’m not (yet) familiar with. So here goes, the Cocktail Mixxx.

Industrial dance, noise, art rock, whatever you call it, you can party to it! I can already see a venue filled with fluorescent dreadlocks, pierced faces and shirts that your mother really hates. This music is extremely danceable, and there even are some tracks that might be suitable for radio-play. Now I don’t think that that’s their intention, but it could happen. Because these guys also operate in the regions of acts like Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, only a bit more noise and less serious.

After hearing this record, I can predict that I will probably will buy more of their stuff soon. Lately I’ve been getting more into the more obscure sub-genres of dance music, and this one surely belongs in one of those categories. Listening to this album actually gives me flashback about the Dour Festival, where this guys would fit in perfectly. That would be one hell of a party!

So, if you’re into some kind of alternative dance or accessible industrial music, be sure you don’t miss this one. And I would like to quote Al Jourgensen on Revolting Cocks to end this review; ‘making this world a better place for you and your hog-bitch girlfriend’. Right on!
