This female fronted hardcore band from Rotterdam Holland was formed in 2002 and released their first MCD in 2004. In 2006 the German Swell Creek Records released their first debut album called Can’t Kill What’s Inside. The band played close to 200 shows to promote the album including two European tours. One and a half year after the release of their full-length debut, they’re back with a MCD that’s called Solitary.

 

Likely the connection between Walls Of Jericho and All For Nothing is easily made because of the female vocalist. But that’s as far as the comparison goes for me because All For Nothing is more in the oldschool type of hardcore. Especially the bands like Sick Of It All, Bane, Comeback Kid and Gorilla Biscuits are crossing my mind when I listen to the five songs on this MCD.

 

With a great working mentality, All For Nothing is trying to gain some respect in the over flooded hardcore scene. An extra addition to this is the eye catching digipack of this MCD and also the pure production of this disc. Which is sharp, clear and raw. Just the production this kind of album needs. With the names mentioned above, it’s pretty clear that this has been done before many times and sometimes even better. But on the other hand I can imagine the crowd in the small clubs going insane chanting ‘Reap What You Saw’, which is from the song ‘Tough Talk’.

 

Again, it’s nothing new what All For Nothing shows here. Still, it’s pretty obvious the band has its hardcore heart in the right place and with a lot of work this could be a band to keep in mind.
